Kampala, Uganda – July 2025
A total of 227 women entrepreneurs have successfully graduated from the Generating Growth Opportunities and Productivity for Women Enterprises (GROW) program, a government initiative aimed at empowering women through business training, mentorship, and financial literacy.
The graduation ceremony celebrated the achievements of the women, who were drawn from various regions across the country and trained in enterprise development, business resilience, and sustainable growth strategies.
Speaking at the event, officials from the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development commended the graduates for their commitment and encouraged them to continue expanding their business knowledge and embracing innovation. The graduates were also urged to become ambassadors of women’s economic empowerment in their communities.
The GROW program is supported by development partners and is part of Uganda’s broader strategy to boost entrepreneurship and financial inclusion among women, especially in underserved and rural areas.
By equipping women with practical skills, access to capital, and market connections, the initiative aims to reduce poverty, close gender gaps in business ownership, and drive inclusive economic growth.
