Global cryptocurrency exchange Binance has partnered with telecom operator Africell to launch a blockchain and cryptocurrency education initiative aimed at expanding digital skills across Africa.
The collaboration seeks to provide training programs, workshops, and online learning resources focused on blockchain technology, digital assets, and financial literacy. The initiative will target young people, entrepreneurs, and small business owners, helping them better understand how blockchain can be used for innovation, payments, and economic empowerment.
Africell, which operates in several African markets, will leverage its telecom infrastructure and customer base to support outreach and accessibility, while Binance will contribute technical expertise and educational content. The companies say the program is designed to address the knowledge gap surrounding cryptocurrency and promote responsible adoption.
As interest in digital finance grows across the continent, Africa has become one of the fastest-rising regions for crypto adoption. However, limited awareness and regulatory uncertainty have often slowed broader participation. Supporters of the initiative argue that structured education could help foster safe usage, reduce scams, and encourage homegrown blockchain innovation.
The partnership reflects a broader trend of private-sector players investing in Africa’s digital transformation, positioning the continent as a growing hub for fintech and emerging technologies.
