Cameroon delivered a commanding performance on Wednesday night, living up to their moniker as the Indomitable Lions by stunning defending champions Tunisia 86-65 in a high-stakes Group B clash at the Pavilhao Multiusos de Luanda. The victory not only reaffirmed Cameroon’s growing stature in African basketball but also marked a significant moment in their AfroBasket campaign, as they outpaced a seasoned Tunisian side with energy, precision, and depth.

Williams Narace led the charge with a game-high 20 points, setting the tone early and maintaining momentum throughout. He was ably supported by American-born Jeremiah Hills, who added 14 points with sharp shooting and smart ball movement. Rising star Yves Missi, a new addition to the squad, contributed 12 points, matching the output of veteran Fabian Ateba, whose experience anchored the team’s rhythm. Cameroon’s balanced offense and aggressive defense kept Tunisia on the back foot for most of the game.

Tunisia, despite their pedigree and past dominance, struggled to find their footing. Jawhar Jawadi led their scoring effort with 16 points, while Mohamed Ochi and Omar Abada chipped in with 12 and 11 points respectively. The match, the tenth AfroBasket meeting between the two nations, began at a frenetic pace with both sides trading baskets in the opening quarter. However, Cameroon’s relentless pressure and superior execution gradually widened the gap, leaving Tunisia unable to mount a comeback.

This result sends a clear message to the rest of the tournament field: Cameroon is not just competing—they’re contending. With a blend of emerging talent and seasoned leadership, the Indomitable Lions are roaring louder than ever.
