Centenary Bank has clinched two prestigious accolades at the 2025 Brand Africa Awards, earning recognition as the Most Admired Ugandan Bank and the Ugandan Bank Doing Good in the Community. These honors celebrate the bank’s unwavering commitment to customer-focused banking and meaningful contributions to social and economic development across Uganda.
The Brand Africa Awards, spanning more than 30 African countries, are a gold standard for evaluating brands based on trust, relevance, and community impact. Independent research by GeoPoll and Kantar highlights Centenary Bank’s leadership in providing accessible and innovative financial services, from its digital platforms like CenteMobile and CenteOnline to an extensive network of 81 branches, 209 ATMs, and over 8,000 agents nationwide.
Speaking on the achievement, Managing Director Fabian Kasi expressed gratitude to customers, partners, and communities, emphasizing that the awards reflect the bank’s dedication to delivering quality services and fostering lasting impact. Over the past four decades, Centenary Bank has consistently expanded its reach, supporting underserved populations and promoting financial inclusion.
The recognition as a bank making a difference in communities underscores its social responsibility initiatives. The bank allocates 2% of its net profit annually to programs enhancing education, healthcare, livelihoods, and environmental sustainability. Notable projects include providing school furniture and materials, supporting hospitals with medical equipment, participating in Rotary Cancer Runs, and spearheading environmental campaigns that have seen over 70,000 trees planted across Uganda.
Through its combination of financial innovation and social impact, Centenary Bank continues to set a benchmark for banking excellence in Uganda. The awards serve as a call-to-action for other institutions to integrate purpose with performance, demonstrating that sustainable growth is achievable when communities and businesses thrive together.
