Ugandan superstar Eddy Kenzo has once again put the Pearl of Africa on the global map after landing his second Grammy Award nomination, this time for his inspirational hit “Hope & Love.”
The song, a collaboration with Swedish-Iranian artist Mehran Matin, has earned a nod in the Best African Music Performance category at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards slated for February 2026 in Los Angeles, USA.
This nomination follows Kenzo’s historic 2023 Grammy recognition for “Gimme Love,” his collaboration with American artist Matt B, making him the first Ugandan artist to be nominated twice by the Recording Academy.
Speaking about the milestone, Kenzo expressed gratitude to his fans and team for their continued support, emphasizing that the nomination is not only a personal achievement but a victory for Uganda and Africa as a whole.
“I thank God and everyone who has supported my journey. This recognition shows that African music continues to rise globally. Hope & Love carries a message of unity and resilience — I’m proud it’s being celebrated on such a stage,” he said.
“Hope & Love” blends Afrobeat rhythms with soulful melodies and uplifting lyrics that promote peace, hope, and togetherness — a sound that has resonated with listeners across continents. The track has also received critical acclaim for its production quality and cultural fusion.
Kenzo’s nomination places him among Africa’s finest talents, including Burna Boy, Davido, and Wizkid, who also earned nominations in the same category, making the race both competitive and historic for the continent.
As anticipation builds toward the 2026 Grammy Awards, Ugandans at home and abroad continue to celebrate Kenzo’s achievement as another proud moment for the country’s fast-growing music industry.
