Entebbe, Uganda | Entebbe International Airport made history in July 2025, welcoming 230,577 passengers the highest monthly traffic ever recorded. This milestone surpassed the previous record set in December 2024, signaling a steady rise in both domestic and international travel.

According to the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), the airport managed 119,127 arrivals and 111,450 departures, averaging 7,437 passengers per day. Analysts attribute this surge to multiple factors, including the arrival of delegations for CHAN 2024, aggressive tourism promotion campaigns, international conferences hosted in Uganda, and enhanced airline connectivity across key routes.

Cargo traffic also saw notable activity, with the airport handling 5,863 metric tonnes in total 3,961 tonnes exported and 1,902 tonnes imported highlighting Uganda’s growing role in regional and global trade.

The record-breaking figures reflect both the resilience of Uganda’s aviation sector and the country’s increasing appeal as a destination for business, sports, and tourism. With infrastructure expansion and continued airline partnerships, Entebbe International Airport is poised to maintain this upward trajectory, offering seamless travel experiences while boosting the nation’s economy.

Takeaway: Uganda’s aviation sector is reaching new heights. Continued investment in airport infrastructure, airline connectivity, and tourism promotion is essential to sustain growth and capitalize on the country’s strategic position in East Africa.
