Kampala, Uganda | The ISACA Kampala Chapter has officially announced the 14th Annual East Africa Information Security Conference, set to run from September 29 to October 3, 2025, at Speke Resort Munyonyo and Conference Centre. This year’s gathering will be held under the theme “Thriving in the Era of Disruptive Technology.”

The five-day event will bring together technology leaders, regulators, cybersecurity professionals, academia, and ecosystem partners for masterclasses, hands-on workshops, keynote addresses, panel discussions, and thematic sessions on artificial intelligence, cloud security, and cybersecurity.

At the official launch held at Fairway Hotel in Kampala, Christine Nalubowa, representing NITA-U Director of Information Security Arnold Mangeni, presided over the event. She was joined by Dr. Irene Nakiyimba, Deputy Principal of the Uganda Institute of Information and Communications Technology (UICT), who represented Principal Dr. Fredrick Kitoogo.

Speaking at the launch, Maurice Taremwa, President of ISACA Kampala Chapter, emphasized the growing importance of cybersecurity in everyday life.

“Most of our lives are now online. From daily communication to financial transactions, digital trust and accountability are key. We want to ensure that national transactions and technology assets are secure, which is why this conference is critical,” he said.

He further highlighted the opportunities and challenges presented by disruptive technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning.

“AI is speeding up processes in finance, health, and many other sectors. But as we embrace these innovations, we must also safeguard trust. Disruption pushes enterprises to adapt, become more efficient, and reach wider audiences. The question is—how do we thrive in this new reality while keeping systems secure?”

The ISACA Kampala Chapter Annual Conference is supported by the Ministry of ICT and National Guidance, Liquid Telecom, NITA-U, UICT, Sentinel, Seacom, ICTAU, and NR Tech Solutions.
