Kampala schools reported a seamless start to the 2025 national examinations as all exam papers arrived on time, ensuring that students could begin their tests without disruption. The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) confirmed that the distribution of papers to all designated exam centres across the city was completed as scheduled, providing a calm and organized environment for candidates.

Teachers and invigilators were fully prepared, with examination halls set up in advance to accommodate students under strict adherence to exam protocols. Security personnel were deployed to each centre to maintain order and prevent malpractice, including cheating or unauthorized material. These measures contributed to a disciplined start to the exams, giving students confidence and minimizing anxiety.

Candidates turned up in large numbers, ready to take their Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE), Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE), and Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) tests. School officials reported that students appeared well-prepared and followed examination procedures, highlighting the efforts of both students and teachers in preparation for the national tests.

While minor logistical challenges were reported in some regions outside Kampala, the capital’s exam centres experienced no significant delays or incidents. The smooth delivery of exam materials in Kampala sets a positive precedent for the remaining exam schedule and reassures parents, educators, and policymakers that UNEB’s logistical planning is effective.

UNEB officials have urged students to maintain discipline throughout the exam period, advising them to adhere to instructions and focus on their performance. They also emphasized that any violations of exam regulations would be dealt with strictly, including cases of impersonation or use of unauthorized materials.

The successful commencement of exams in Kampala is a reflection of coordinated planning between UNEB, school authorities, and security agencies. It underscores the importance of timely delivery and proper management of examination logistics in ensuring fairness and integrity in national assessments. As the examinations continue across the country, stakeholders remain committed to maintaining transparency, minimizing disruptions, and supporting students to achieve their best results.
