KCB Bank Uganda has achieved the internationally recognized ISO 27001:2022 certification, a major milestone that reinforces the bank’s commitment to safeguarding customer information and strengthening its cybersecurity systems.
The certification, awarded after a rigorous audit process, confirms that the bank has implemented globally approved standards for managing information security risks. It covers areas such as data protection, cyber-risk management, business continuity, and secure operational processes.
Speaking about the achievement, the bank’s leadership noted that ISO 27001:2022 places KCB Bank Uganda among a select group of financial institutions that have met the highest global benchmarks for information security. They emphasized that the certification affirms the bank’s ongoing investments in secure digital banking, fraud prevention, and customer data privacy.
The bank added that customers can expect enhanced safety of their personal and financial information, improved resilience against cyber threats, and stronger confidence in the bank’s digital services. The certification also positions KCB Bank Uganda to support more secure cross-border transactions and partnerships within the region.
ISO 27001:2022 is the latest and most comprehensive version of the global information security standard.
