Nairobi, Kenya, Kenya Airways has cancelled its scheduled flights between Nairobi and New York after severe winter weather in the United States disrupted operations at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK). A blizzard warning and heavy snowfall forced airport authorities to suspend flight activity for certain periods, prompting the airline to ground two services for safety reasons.
The affected flights include KQ 002 from Nairobi to New York on February 22, 2026, and KQ 003 from New York to Nairobi on February 23, 2026. Kenya Airways said it deeply regrets the inconvenience and is advising passengers to monitor its website and contact customer service for updates.
The airline has announced plans to resume KQ 002 on February 24 and KQ 003 on February 25, provided weather conditions improve and authorities clear the way for safe operations. Kenya Airways emphasised that passenger and crew safety remains its top priority.
