Mauritius has taken a bold step toward transforming its education system with the launch of “mytGPT for Education,” an artificial intelligence-powered platform designed to personalize learning and enhance engagement among students, teachers, and parents. Developed in partnership between the Ministry of Education and Mauritius Telecom, the platform represents a significant milestone in the country’s digital education strategy. Its introduction follows a successful pilot program conducted between August and October 2025, involving 70 Grade 12 students across mathematics, accounting, and physics. The trial demonstrated the platform’s ability to adapt to individual learning needs and improve academic outcomes.

At its core, mytGPT for Education functions as a responsive, always-available learning assistant. Students can access tailored explanations, practice exercises, and revision materials that align with their unique pace and level of understanding. This personalized approach helps bridge learning gaps and fosters greater confidence in tackling complex subjects. For educators, the platform offers real-time insights into student progress, enabling them to adjust teaching strategies and provide targeted support where needed. This dual capability empowers teachers to create more inclusive and effective classroom environments.

The platform also extends its benefits to parents, offering them a window into their children’s academic development. By involving families in the learning process, mytGPT for Education promotes a collaborative approach to education that aligns with Mauritius’ broader goals of equity and accessibility. The initiative reflects a growing global trend toward integrating AI in education, where intelligent systems are used to customize instruction, support diverse learners, and prepare students for a rapidly evolving digital world.

Mauritius’ readiness to embrace such innovation is underpinned by its robust digital infrastructure and forward-thinking policy framework. The launch of mytGPT for Education not only signals a new era in Mauritian education but also positions the country as a regional leader in AI-driven learning solutions. As the platform scales up, it is expected to play a pivotal role in shaping a more adaptive, inclusive, and future-ready education system that meets the needs of all learners.
