Rabat – Moroccan students continue to earn recognition for their outstanding achievements in sciences, engineering, and business in France.
According to Campus France, the agency promoting higher education abroad, Moroccan students are increasingly sought after internationally due to their strong performance and efficiency in entrance exams for France’s top institutions.
“For several years, Moroccan students have consistently ranked among the top foreign candidates admitted to Ecole Polytechnique, one of the world’s most prestigious schools,” a Campus France spokesperson told Moroccan news agency MAP.
France hosts over 43,300 Moroccan students, making Morocco the leading country of origin for international students in the country. More than half study at universities, with a rising number attending business schools (19%). Master’s programs account for 56% of enrollments, followed by bachelor’s (39%) and doctoral programs (5%). Engineering schools attract 14% of Moroccan students, while business school enrollments have grown by over 65%, and engineering enrollments by 18%.
Science remains the most popular field, with nearly 12,000 Moroccan students pursuing it. The consistent success of Moroccans in France has earned them a strong reputation, highlighted by reports from Campus France and UNESCO Institute for Statistics, which shows Morocco as the leading nationality among France’s international students, representing 10% of the total in the 2023–2024 academic year.
Ecole Polytechnique has admitted 24 Moroccan students for the 2025 academic year after rigorous entrance exams, out of 56 applicants who qualified for the written phase. The school praised these results, confirming the “excellent performance of Moroccan students” in its competitive examinations.
