Mozambique’s National Communications Institute (INCM) has launched ThinkLab, a pioneering technology incubator aimed at accelerating digital transformation and nurturing startup innovation across the country. The initiative was unveiled in Maputo during INCM’s 33rd anniversary celebration, marking a bold step toward positioning Mozambique as a regional hub for tech-driven development. ThinkLab is envisioned not merely as a physical space, but as a dynamic ecosystem where young entrepreneurs, developers, and visionaries can collaborate, experiment, and bring groundbreaking ideas to life.
Speaking at the launch, Communications and Digital Transformation Minister Américo Muchanga described ThinkLab as “a symbol of the future we want to build,” emphasizing its role in shaping a digitally inclusive society. He underscored the importance of digital communication as the backbone of modern economies, capable of empowering communities and democratizing access to knowledge. Helena Fernandes, Chairperson of INCM’s Board, echoed this vision by portraying ThinkLab as a bridge between local talent and global opportunity.
