Nigeria is preparing to host the World Investment Summit 2026 in Abuja, a landmark event poised to reshape the country’s economic trajectory by unlocking up to $5 trillion in foreign direct investment (FDI) opportunities. Scheduled for April 27 to 30, the summit will bring together global leaders, investors, development partners, and policymakers under the theme “Unlocking Capital, Accelerating Development, Driving Prosperity.” With over 80 Heads of State and Government, 96 ministers, 800 speakers, and more than 8,000 participants expected, the summit promises to be one of the most influential gatherings of its kind on the African continent.

The initiative is being championed by the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), a high-level body established to advance Nigeria’s global economic interests and attract strategic investments. At a recent Pre-Summit Dinner held in Abuja, PFIPC convened diplomats, senior government officials, development partners, and private sector leaders to build momentum and showcase Nigeria’s readiness to host the event. The gathering emphasized Nigeria’s commitment to creating a conducive environment for investment and highlighted the country’s vast potential across sectors such as infrastructure, energy, agriculture, technology, and manufacturing.

The World Investment Summit 2026 is not merely a showcase of Nigeria’s economic ambitions, it is a strategic platform designed to deepen Africa’s integration into global capital flows. By positioning Nigeria as a gateway for regional development, the summit aims to catalyze transformative partnerships that can drive inclusive growth and long-term prosperity. The projected $5 trillion in FDI opportunities reflects the scale of Nigeria’s vision and the confidence of its leadership in the country’s ability to attract and sustain global investment.

As preparations intensify, Nigeria is signaling to the world that it is open for business and ready to lead. The summit represents a pivotal moment in the country’s journey toward economic revitalization, offering a rare opportunity to align domestic priorities with international capital and expertise. With strategic backing, high-level participation, and a clear focus on development, the World Investment Summit 2026 is set to be a defining chapter in Nigeria’s economic story.
