Premier Distilleries Limited (PDL), the maker of Simba Gin and coffee-flavored vodka, has stepped up efforts to promote responsible alcohol consumption with a community engagement drive in Luwero District. Through its Bikole Masavu campaign, the company sensitized residents of Wobulenzi Market on the dangers of illicit alcohol while encouraging safe and responsible drinking practices.
The campaign, which marks PDL’s 25 years of serving the Ugandan market, combines public education with customer appreciation. Market vendors, traders, and boda boda riders were urged to avoid unregulated alcohol products that pose serious health risks and to make informed choices by consuming only certified beverages.
As part of the outreach, PDL rewarded loyal customers through its ongoing promotions. Emmanuel Okello, a barber from Bamunanuka Sub-County, walked away with a brand-new Bajaj motorcycle after emerging as the first winner in the customer rewards program. An elated Okello described his win as life-changing and encouraged others to participate in the promotion.
Speaking at the event, PDL’s Head of Sales, Godfrey Serutta, stressed that the initiative goes beyond rewards. “There is a lot of illicit alcohol on the market putting many Ugandans at risk. Much as we are rewarding our customers and celebrating our 25th year in the market, we are also educating them at the grassroots. That is why we are here at Wobulenzi Market to celebrate and to educate,” he said.
With the Bikole Masavu campaign, PDL continues to strengthen its dual mission of community empowerment and consumer protection, ensuring that celebrations are not only enjoyable but also safe.
