Lugazi, Uganda | David Plenderleith and Catherine Pavie emerged champions of the Johnnie Walker Seniors Uganda Golf Open, which concluded Saturday at the par-71 Lugazi Hills Golf & Country Club.

Plenderleith carded a gross score of 167 to clinch the men’s title, finishing three strokes ahead of John Muchiri. Defending champion Stephen Katwiremu struggled this year, placing 10th, 18 strokes off the pace.

In the women’s category, Pavie claimed victory with a gross of 192 after former champion Edrae Kagombe faltered on the second day, paving the way for a new titleholder.

The event, backed by Johnnie Walker as the title sponsor alongside ABSA Bank, Aquafina, Isuzu, Mansour, MAC East Africa, Medisell Uganda Limited, MTN, NBS Sport, and the Uganda Tourism Board, drew a strong field of seasoned golfers competing for national honors.

The Uganda Golf Open continues with the Ladies Open set for August 28–30, followed by the Amateurs Open from September 3–6 and the Professional Open from September 8–13.
