Kampala, Uganda | Rubis Energy Uganda has injected fresh momentum into The Remnant Generation’s (TRG) efforts to support survivors of sexual abuse and teenage mothers through a new €10,000 (UGX 40.2 million) Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) partnership.
The partnership, unveiled during a ceremony at TRG’s headquarters in Busega–Kitaka Zone, underscores Rubis’ commitment to advancing dignity, health, and sustainable livelihoods for vulnerable young women and girls across Uganda.
Under this initiative, Rubis will provide essential in-kind support to TRG shelters including food supplies, household items, sanitary and learning materials, and fuel for the organization’s service van. The donation will boost TRG’s Restoration, Health, and Thrive programs, which offer counseling, early childhood education, vocational training, and formal schooling for survivors of abuse.
In a move that promotes cleaner and safer energy use, Rubis will also support TRG’s transition from charcoal to Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cooking systems, reflecting the company’s drive toward sustainable, health-friendly energy solutions.
Speaking at the event, Rubis Energy Uganda Managing Director, William Humbert-Marie Fillet, commended TRG for its decade-long work transforming lives.
“At Rubis, we believe in partnerships that create lasting impact. Our collaboration with The Remnant Generation reflects our values of compassion, empowerment, and sustainability,” Fillet said. “When we empower women and girls, we build stronger and more resilient communities.”
Rubis CSR Manager, Henry Karuhanga, noted that the initiative aligns with the company’s focus areas of health, education, and community development.
“By providing cleaner energy and supporting skill development, we’re helping create a safer, more dignified environment where young women can heal and thrive,” he added.
Founded by Annabelle Nakabiri Ssebakijje, TRG has for over a decade provided rescue, counseling, and reintegration services to survivors of abuse and teenage mothers. Through its holistic ‘3RT Model’ — Rescue, Restore, Repurpose, Thrive — the organization has transformed more than 7,000 lives via shelters such as Princess Shelter for young mothers and Juveniles of Honor Home for abused girls.
Reflecting on the partnership, Nakabiri hailed Rubis’ contribution as life-changing.
“This partnership is a beacon of hope. Access to clean energy, food, and essential resources will greatly improve the care we provide and help our girls build healthier, more sustainable futures,” she said. “Together, we’re turning stories of pain into stories of purpose.”
The collaboration marks yet another step in Uganda’s growing corporate trend toward socially inclusive and sustainable investments, bridging business leadership with community empowerment and environmental stewardship.
