CFAO Mobility Uganda has announced the launch of the 19th edition of the Toyota Dream Car Art Contest, marking its third national contest in Uganda.

This global initiative invites young visionaries aged 15 and under across Uganda to unleash their creativity and imagine the future of mobility through art. Children are encouraged to draw their dream cars, providing them with an opportunity to showcase their innovative ideas on a global stage.

Since its inception in 2004, the Toyota Dream Car Art Contest has invited children to create artwork that envisions the mobility of the future. Over 10 million entries have been submitted from 151 countries, making it one of the largest art contests for children worldwide.

With a mission to "Produce Happiness for All," Toyota aims to create a society where people can dream of a brighter future, believing in the power of creativity as the driving force. The contest is held with the hope that children, who will shape the future, will be inspired to unleash their creativity and dream big.

The last edition of the contest (the 18th) saw national contests in 90 countries and regions, with 665,326 entries received globally. In Uganda, the second national contest held between November 2024 and March 2025 attracted 271 submissions, with 26 winners selected across three age categories. These winners also competed in the world contest, which includes special awards like the "Let's Change the Future of Cars" Award and the "Waku-Doki Award."

The 19th edition will once again feature both the National and World Contests. The national contest in Uganda is now open for submissions, with the deadline set for Friday, February 27, 2026.

The top three artworks from each category will be crowned national champions and entered into the World Contest in Japan, where they will compete against young dreamers from around the world. Winners at the World Contest will receive USD 5,000 for themselves and USD 10,000 for their school. The six best finalists in each category will each be awarded USD 3,000.

In Uganda, national winners will also receive framed certificates, school fees support of Shs 2 million for each category winner, shopping vouchers, Paint and Sip Art Sessions, school bags, drawstring bags, T-shirts, and Toyota-branded keyrings.

Isaac Tegule, Marketing Manager at CFAO Mobility Uganda, emphasized the significance of the contest: “Every great idea begins with a dream, and every dream begins with imagination. For children, drawing their dream car is an expression of hope and courage, a way of shaping how they see the future. Through the Toyota Dream Car Art Contest, we not only celebrate creativity but also invest in the next generation. We want children across Uganda to feel empowered to share their vision, to be curious about cars and mobility, and to see Toyota as a brand that listens to and values their ideas.”

The contest is open to all Ugandan children aged 15 and under, with submissions divided into three categories:

  • Category 1: Children aged 7 and under
  • Category 2: Children aged 8 to 11
  • Category 3: Children aged 12 to 15

The entry form is available for download at www.toyota.co.ug or can be collected from any CFAO Mobility Uganda branch. Entries can be submitted either as hand-drawn artwork with the completed form attached or as scanned digital works (PDF format) via email to dreamcar.ug@cfao.com. Alternatively, submissions can be hand-delivered to any CFAO Mobility Uganda branch across the country, including the Namanve Head Office, Kampala Branch, Gulu Branch, Mbale Branch, and Buliisa Service Center.
