On Wednesday, Deputy Speaker of Parliament Thomas Tayebwa welcomed a courtesy visit from China’s Ambassador to Uganda, H.E Zhang Lizhong.

The discussion focused on reinforcing the partnership between Uganda and China across multiple sectors, including infrastructure, energy, agriculture, health, education, and technology. During the meeting, Tayebwa expressed his appreciation for China’s ongoing support, describing it as “immense.” “I thanked him for his country’s continued immense support to Uganda,” Tayebwa remarked.

China has been a vital diplomatic partner for Uganda, contributing significantly to key areas of development. The meeting concluded on a positive note, with both parties reaffirming their commitment to strengthening bilateral ties.

The partnership between Uganda and China continues to expand, with new opportunities emerging across various sectors. As Tayebwa highlighted, China’s support remains invaluable, and Uganda is eager to deepen cooperation in the future.
