The 2025 dfcu Rising Woman Expo, held at the UMA Showgrounds in Lugogo, Kampala, showcased the creativity, resilience, and innovation of Uganda’s women entrepreneurs. Organized by dfcu Bank in partnership with Monitor Publications Limited, the two-day event attracted hundreds of participants from across the country, offering a platform for women-led businesses to gain visibility, connect with potential partners, and strengthen their enterprises.

The Expo forms part of the dfcu Rising Woman Initiative, a program designed to support women entrepreneurs through training, mentorship, financial literacy, and access to markets. Each year, it serves as a national stage for women-owned brands to showcase their products, interact with investors, and participate in workshops that enhance their business skills.

Speaking at the event, Doreen Atuheire, Head of dfcu Women in Business, emphasized the transformative power of investing in women-led businesses. “When women gain access to the right financial tools, skills, and networks, they don’t just grow their businesses; they uplift entire communities,” she said. Her remarks highlight the impact of the dfcu Women in Business (WiB) Programme, which has empowered over 80,000 women entrepreneurs through advisory services, training, and tailored financial solutions.

This year’s Expo featured a wide range of activities, including a grand exhibition arena showcasing diverse women-owned brands, high-impact masterclasses, mentorship clinics, public dialogues, and networking spaces connecting entrepreneurs to distributors, suppliers, and investors.

The event also reflects dfcu Bank’s long-standing commitment to supporting enterprise growth and financial inclusion in Uganda. Celebrating over 60 years of service, the bank continues to play a crucial role in transforming lives and strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystem across the country.

By providing a platform for skill development, networking, and visibility, the dfcu Rising Woman Expo 2025 not only celebrates the achievements of Ugandan women entrepreneurs but also inspires further economic participation and sustainable business growth.
