Itanda Kayakers claimed the 2026 Women’s Elite Cricket League title on 1 February after a dramatic one-run victory over Karuma Rapids at Lugogo. The tournament, held from 27 January to 1 February, highlighted the growing strength and depth of women’s cricket in Uganda.
The Uganda Women’s T20 Elite League kicked off at Lugogo Cricket Oval, showcasing the nation’s top female cricketers in competitive and thrilling matches. Itanda Kayakers and Bujjagali Rafters have posted early victories, while Karuma Rapids continue to struggle, highlighting both emerging talent and the growing prominence of women’s cricket in Uganda.
