Submissions are now open for the 2025 BeGreen Programme in South Africa and Nigeria, offering a transformative opportunity for young entrepreneurs committed to building sustainable, environmentally focused businesses. This initiative, backed by Generation Unlimited and UNICEF in collaboration with the Tony Elumelu Foundation, is designed to empower youth with the resources, mentorship, and funding needed to launch or scale green enterprises. With grants of up to $5,000 available, the programme aims to catalyze innovation in the green economy while addressing climate challenges through youth-led solutions.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old and present a for-profit business idea or an existing enterprise that demonstrates a clear commitment to environmental sustainability. The selection process prioritizes originality, ethical business practices, and the potential for measurable impact. Successful candidates will gain access to tailored training sessions, expert guidance, and a supportive entrepreneurial ecosystem that nurtures growth and resilience. The programme also emphasizes community engagement and long-term viability, encouraging participants to develop scalable models that contribute to both economic development and ecological preservation.

Building on the success of its previous editions, the 2025 BeGreen Programme introduces a more refined structure that aligns with global sustainability goals and national development agendas. It reflects a broader commitment to youth empowerment and inclusive economic growth, recognizing the critical role young people play in driving climate action and innovation. By fostering green entrepreneurship, the programme not only supports individual aspirations but also contributes to a more sustainable future for South Africa and Nigeria.

Applications will remain open until March 1, 2025, and early submissions are encouraged to enhance the chances of selection. As environmental concerns continue to shape global priorities, initiatives like BeGreen stand out as vital platforms for nurturing the next generation of changemakers. For aspiring entrepreneurs with a passion for sustainability, this programme offers a unique chance to transform ideas into impactful ventures that benefit both people and the planet.
