The electric haul trucks rolled into Zambia’s Copperbelt to support large-scale copper production, setting the stage for what many are calling the start of a new "green gold rush." This is one of the biggest deliveries of electric mining trucks to any African country and could push Zambia ahead in the global clean energy supply chain.
These trucks are built to handle high-intensity work while reducing emissions—key for a country with ambitions to lead in sustainable resource extraction. Zambia remains one of the world’s top copper producers and is now looking to add value through eco-friendly operations.
Copper is the heartbeat of electric vehicles, solar panels, and global power grids. With demand soaring, Zambia is seizing the moment to scale up production while modernizing its methods. The arrival of electric fleets is both a symbol and a signal: Africa is no longer just the source of raw materials—it’s stepping into the future of green industrialization.
